    Question redirect IP to folder

Hi! My website sits at: "http://208.109.220.101/~sacc/"

I need to be able to type in just the IP address and be directed to the folder.

    ex.

    would redirect to

How may I go about accomplishing this?

My webhost will offer no assistance for this.
    Thanks,
    CH

I am not sure whether it is possible. However, you can try to write the rewrite rule on your .htaccess file and have a try.

Most probably you are on a shared IP. Your host might have many people on the same IP. If that is the case then it will pick up the first entry corresponding to this IP from the Apache config file.
To cut the long story short, you need to have a dedicated IP in order to achieve this :-/

I am on a virtual server with godaddy.com. They say my IP is only on my server.

Would I make a change in the VirtualHost settings in httpd.conf?

    Thanks,

The quickest way to check if you have a dedicated IP address is to log in to your cPanel and look in the left column (near the bottom) for "Dedicated Ip Address" which will have your actual IP address listed. If it is a dedicated IP address, it should (at least on my server) show the website using the IP address only.

If the left column has "Shared Ip Address" instead of the "Dedicated Ip Address" caption, then that is why the "~sacc/" is needed as multiple sites may share the address.

You can do it with edit "httpd.conf" too.
