I have this error many times in the logs:

2009-12-09 05:30:14 H=([xx.xx.xx.x]) [xx.xx.xx.xx] F=<contact@xxx.fr> rejected RCPT <xxx@neuf.fr>: ([xx.xx.xx.xx]) [xx.xx.xx.xx] is currently not permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned on in your email client.

The quoted log detail is normal to see when the e-mail client software is not configured to use SMTP Authentication. It will be necessary to ensure that the e-mail client software application is configured to use SMTP Authentication; this is where the e-mail client software is configured to use the e-mail account username and password to log-in (authenticate) as a legitimate or valid e-mail account that exists on the server.

How to do check the SMTP Authentication setting depends on what e-mail client software application is being used to attempt sending e-mail via SMTP. Using your preferred Internet search engine I recommend to include the phrase "SMTP Authentication" in addition to including the software application name and version in the search criteria; this will help pinpoint further resources that detail how to configure the applicable e-mail software.
