remote DNS question

Hello,

Yes....I'm a newb to Cpanel/WHM.

Question: I use my registrar for domain NS and DNS (IP based hosting) on my Cpanel server. I do not have custom NS for my Cpanel server. Is it okay to completely delete the DNS zone record for a domain using remote NS and DNS host files?

If you delete the DNS zone record your domain will not resolve.

To use your own nameservers, you must register them with your domain name registrar.

You must know the the IP addresses you wish to use for your nameservers prior to registering them.

Create your custom dns at your registrar to have them point to your servers nameserver IP's, and then add change your domains nameserver to the custom dns.

If you have a custom DNS setup, you can edit the templates that WHM and cPanel use to create DNS zone files for new domains.
