Server Migration.

Hi there,

I've run into some hardware problems with my server and now I'm going to move to a bigger and better one. I'm only just starting out, so it took me ages to configure and lock it down, install ConfigServer Securty and Firewall, etc. I've only got a handful of accounts on my current server, so I can afford a few days downtime if need be.

My question is... is there an easy way to copy all my cPanel configuration options from the old server to the new server? That would save me heaps of time!

(I've found a few how tos on migrating accounts so that should be pretty straight forward - it's the configuration which is going to be the hard bit.)

Any help would be appreciated. I'll keep updating this thread and let you know how I'm going with it all.

I am also trying to move everything from old to new server.

I requested a test temp 15 days license from "cpanel store my acct section".

I used the "Copy an account from another server" feature from the whm and copied all accounts to the new server. I thought that was it but NONE of my site is up and running anymore on either server. I believe it has to do with name servers and so on, but I do not know how to fix it. I opened a support ticket with login info for both server and waiting for the cpanel tech assistance. I hope all websites will be up and running soon. They've been down for about two days now. I hope cpanel tech will respond back quick.

Hey there, not sure if you are still looking, however i hear http://www.platinumservermanagement.com/ are good and I noticed they do server migration as part of their server management plans, however im not sure if thet do it as an induvidual service, you may need to contact and ask

Yeah ... ME!

I don't know anyone out there in my league or even close
but then I have been doing this for more than 30 years too
so one does tend to build a certain higher level of expertise
and experience over that time!

Yes, there is a few threads on this forum community dealing with exactly that
which you might be able to find searching for "RCP" or "SSH" possibly.

I also have a script I would be glad to give you that will automatically migrate your
entire server and all the accounts and settings over to your new server too leaving
you to only need to do the basic software installations.
