Simple question please, adding 2nd harddrive as a backup only

Hello, I am in the process of adding a second harddrive to my server. I am using linux Cpanel WHM redhat, and am completely new to this. So I will contact my server host and have them install the new harddrive, so here are my questions:

1. When they install the harddrive will they tell me how to access this or do I have to find this out?

2. How do I configure the backups to be saved on my 2nd harddrive and not the first harddrive?

Please explain step by step in detail what to do since I am new. Thanks a lot I appreciate your time

Hi -

After the DC guys install the backup drive you can see it in the Server Info option from WHM.

In order to configure the backup on the Second drive you need to configure the backup from WHM.

Remount/Unmount backup drive (requires a seperate drive/coda/nfs mount) >> Enabled

Bail out if the backup drive cannot be mounted (recommended if you have selected the above option) >> Enabled

Incremental backup (only backup what has changed. (**No Compression**, not compatible w/ftp backups)>> Disabled

After the backup is configured the second drive is mounted on /backup.

Thanks, however I am completely new so there are a few things I like to confirm:

Do you mean in the configure backup option I will see this? So I have to select the option to mount the harddrive first? Sorry if you could explain to me in detail to someone who is completely new that would be great.
