    Default SMTP server

    I'm new to all this

How do I give my hosted clients an outgoing SMTP mail server

Do i create an A name or a C name

    is it simply

    smtp.clientdomainname.co.uk,

does it require an IP number?

If you created the account via WHM then it should have its own SMTP mail servers which is the same as the POP mail server ( mail.domainname.com ) alternitavely you can use the IP that is associated with the account ( the shared IP or the dedicated IP assigned to the account )

If the user is have trouble sending email ( via OutLook ), inform them to use their ISP SMTP server. It would seem as though the users ISP *may* be blocking port 25, which in turn causes send mail errors. Setting the SMTP server to the one provided by their ISP should resolve your issue.

This Thread shows more details of the latter: http://forums.cpanel.net/showpost.ph...78&postcount=1

    Hope That Helps.
