Software installation

I am new to ssh and need instructions on how to install zip files and tar files that I have on my desktop via ssh

If you want to install software in to your server then first of all you will have to copy the necessary zip files in server. Once you copy you need to move to the directory where you have placed the zip files and unzip it using command tar –xvzf filenametounzip.

After that follow the steps mentioned in the installation document of software you wish to install.

Now how do I locate my installed files. I installed as root user.

After you install cPanel, you need to go to WHM and login in. Instructions can be found in the manual here
