Timeout on connect

Hi everyone,
I am trying to install cPanel on FC5 and am getting the following error

Rpm Sanity Check PASSED!
^[OR^[OS^H^HFetching http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/pub/CPAN/index.html (0)......Timeout on connect.....Unable to connect to host: 198.66.78.11......skipping 198.66.78.11.....Timeout on connect.....Unable to connect to host: 69.72.164.155......skipping 69.72.164.155.....Timeout on connect.....Unable to connect to host: 69.72.164.152......skipping 69.72.164.152.....Timeout on connect.....Unable to connect to host: 69.90.250.35......skipping 69.90.250.35.....Timeout on connect

and the error keeps going the same till it stops.

and i couldn't find a solution for this.
i have tried to install it on another machine with FC5 as well and i got the same error

i am using my machine now behind proxy and i exported the http_proxy and ftp_proxy settings.
should i add this proxy somewhere els?

Hi,

It seems your server was not able to make the connection to the cpanel server. Check with the resolve.conf entry on your machine. Are you able to ping the cpanel server....

I can resolve cpanel site just fine and i have no issues DNS
and also error message specified IP addresses so I t has nothing to do with DNS resolving

have you done a traceroute for one of cpanel ip addresses on your server ?

Ok, seems like there were a probel with the Fedora, now i installed RedHat enterprise and tryied the installation, and am getting the following error now

CPAN is currenly broken.  Install cannot proceed.   Please see cpan.org for more

what does this mean? it is not time out on connect it is time out in recieving.
