Question Top is VPS shows hardware node or VPS load?

Hi,

The top command shows load on the cpu as well as the processes and memory usage. Can you please tell me that the data being shown is of my vps or that of the hardware node?

cpu usage -> hardware node / VPS (I think hardware node)

memory -> hardware node / VPS (I think hardware node)

processes -> hardware node / VPS (I think VPS)

Can you please confirm or clarify if I am wrong or right in my understanding of the above?

Thanks in advance,

Somnath Ukil

Thumbs down

Yes, I'd like to know too.

My understanding is top -c will show your own server individual processes, but the LOAD AVERAGE is the entire server?

If it's a Virtouzzo VPS, that sounds about right. Other virtual server systems (e.g. UMS and XEN) report such information correctly. It does seem odd that Virtuozzo have never addressed that.
