    Default A Total newbie, Help??

    Hello Everyone,

my name is Teresa and I bought the VPS package. I am a total newbie at this.

I own 3 text ad exchanges and I need to mail unlimited amount of opt-in
mailings. I was told that my package is unlimited. All my mail is bouncing.
My support says that I need to go in and create several acccounts to allow all my mail to reach my members.

I asked them over 4 hours ago, how to do this and is there a simpler way. They have not responded to my reply.

Can anyone help me, as I said, I am a newbie...

    Thank-you very much,
    Teresa

Not sure I understand you. Did you setup an account to send email from? If yes and you're all set except for this settings change, check the Tweak Settings section of your WHM. Specifically, the Mail section there.

Other than overriding the default restrictions in "Tweak Settings" in WHM, the next most common mistake made by server owners regarding getting email operational is to forget to setup a reverse DNS (PTR) record which is generally done within the DNS of your upstream server provider in most cases.

Actually you need to do 2 main things to avoid getting bounced:

    1. Make sure your server IP has a reverse PTR record

(Contact your server provider to get this item setup)

    2. Setup SPF in the domain zones for your server

(There is actually an option for this in your CPANEL control panel)

Nearly every mail server out there will bounce your messages if you
don't have a reverse (IP to hostname DNS resolution record) setup
for your server's main email sending IP address.

In a similiar fashion, a very large and growing percentage of servers
will additionally block receiving mail from you if you don't have SPF
records setup for the domain zones setup on your server.
