Did you monitor your logs while you try logging in? What is your server load? Did you try updating your software? Are you getting the same results without logging in to the secure port?

So you mean if you go to http://domain.com/cpanel you get the same results as https://domain.com/cpanel ?

Try searching these forums. There are solutions that have been suggested before. Search using these terms: cpanel slow

    Post WHM/Cpanel Slow

The cPanel/WHM control panel is run from the daemon cpsrvd.
You can give this daemon more memory (note that this will take
memory away from other processes, like the apache web service)
to speed it up at Main >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings
    in WHM.

Change the setting labelled "The maximum memory a cPanel process
can use before it is killed off (in megabytes). Defaults to 128 megabytes
if not specified. Values less than 64 megabytes can not be specified."
