Default View New Account's Site Without Active Domain Name

Is there a way to view an account's site with out having a domain name active?

I know you can go to: http://example.com/~username/
and it will show you some, but this doesn't work as PHP isn't used/parsed.

I need a way to view the client's site before switching over their domain, making the account live.

Using a subdomain is the best option I've found so far, but I'm just wondering if there is a better method for what I want to do.

    Thanks in advance!

We have our servers setup to automatically allow http://login.ourdomain.com
for new users setup on our servers which is pretty easy to setup for
    automatic access by login subdomain.

To manually do the same though, all you need to do is add a subdomain
in the virtualhost appended to "ServerAlias" and make sure you setup
the same entry in the DNS zone file. Restart both server processes.

Done in this manner, PHP using SuPHP or phpSuExec will still work and
the site can be viewed even though the domain is not transferred yet.

Alternatively, you can put an entry in the "hosts" file in Windows systems
under c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc or /etc on Linux systems and
have your home computer be able to connect to the site immediately
using the domain name even if the domain is not transferred yet.

(What is in "hosts" superceeds normal DNS resolution)
