Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but you never could see dot files in File Manager. Those are hidden files. I just checked File Manager and Legacy File Manager and can't see them.
You should get yourself a good FTP client (if you don't have one), and check the settings to show hidden files.
but I can see this file when I switch to the X theme !!!!!!
I can see and edit!!!
to showing this file in other themes what I should be done ?
tanks
I stand corrected. I just checked in X2 and can see them in Fileman. This sounds like something that should be directed to the bugtracker.

If you add one there, post a link back here for it and lets get some votes on it to get this sorted.
Already has one here and is a confirmed bug.

With the new File Manager, when you click on the icon - be sure to check the option to show dot-files. Then you will be able to see and edit .htaccess. I use this functionality myself on a regular (near daily) basis in cPanel 11.
RTFM? Touche?

A few years late but my guess is im not the only one.
If this pop up does not popup because some time ago you clicked like I did:With the new File Manager, when you click on the icon - be sure to check the option to show dot-files
then you will need to reset your cpanel.Skip this question, and always open this directory in the future when opening File Manager.
last quote taken from /http://helpfultech.net/node/28 Show hidden files in cPanel, and find .htaccess | Drupal Helpful Tech thanks guysscroll to the bottom of the main cPanel window and select "Reset all interface settings". It will look like nothing happened, but when you select File Manager again, you'll get a popup window with a checkbox to select "Show hidden files".
