    Default WHM / CPanel Secure?

    Hello,

If I rent an unmanaged server, and install a copy of Cpanel, how far does that go to securing the box?

Does CPanel automatically configure a firewall?

If so, it it just to block requests to some ports, or does it go further into dealing with some DOS attacks?

    Thanks in advance.

Installing cPanel does absolutely nothing to help secure your server, that is not its role. You will still need to install your own firewall and security monitoring tools. There are various threads on these forums with checklists of things you can do to help secure your server.
