    Default why can login thru webmail but cant login Emailclient using same password

    Why it happen to be can log in to webmail but can not login to any email client by using the same password. some sort like password not synchronize. Found the solution but may i know the reason on causing this to be happen?so that to prevent it.

    Need to know the reason, please.

    Are you using the correct login name?

    Depending on what webmail you are using, the login could be
    either the base login (IE: "username") or the full email address.

    If you are logging in from a POP3 email program such as Thunderbird
    or Outlook Express, your login name would be the full complete
    email address (IE: "username@domain.com").

    I personally don't recommend that anyone uses the "master account"
    created automatically by Cpanel as a working email account but
    if that is the account you are trying to login to, you should know
    that the master account does not use your domain name for
    the address but rather the server's hostname.

    In Example:

    Server Hostname: server.myhost.com
    Account Domain: domain.com
    Account Login: fred

    The master account on the above account would actually have an
    email address of "fred@server.myhost.com" instead of "fred@domain.com"
    as most people would assume.

    yes, use the correct password. the user name is the full email address. can be login tru webmail. after set up the email client with the correct password (saved), it is working fine. How ever this prob will occurred and I will called to my hosting provider to run sort of repairing password re-syn. still no reason as i do not make any changes on my setting.it's only happen to domain wide but not server wide as i have other hosting in the same shared server.

    Try logging into your cpanel and changing the password on the account(s) that don't work
    and see if that restores access to the accounts under the new password

    If you're using cPanel 10, click on Configure Outlook next to the email account's name in the Mail Section and it will set up Outlook, Outlook Express or Mail.app for you.


    cPanel 11 does this as well under Configure Mail Client

    You need to check the MX record if you are using e-mail on the same server or somewhere else!!
