Can't create user to add them to a database

For some reason, I can't create a user to add them to a database. It says that the user has been created with the password I assign, but when I go back to the MySql screen, there is no user there. Also, the user I created a while ago and assigned them to a database has also disappeared. What is wrong and how do I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

you can try resting the mysql root password from WHM and see if this is fixed.

I contacted my host service and they refered me to the MySql site. They told me that they don't do that kind of support and all they can offer me is the username and password to the database I already have, which is useless to me if there is no user in the actual setting and I can't create a new user, so now I am unsure what to do! Thanks for your help anyway.
