horde/squirrelmail errors.

I just purchased a VPS about a week ago and it comes with whm/cpanel. Im new to setting everythig up in WHM but am having problems in alot of areas. This area is mail as when I go to horde or squirrelmailthese are the errors I get:

horde:
A fatal error has occurred
Could not connect to database for SQL SessionHandler.
Details have been logged for the administrator.

squirrelmail:
ERROR:
ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.

Additionally, im getting pop failures on service status along with a few other errors as well which include:
eximstats
ftpd (1.2.10)
imap
mysql (4.1.21-standard)
pop

I have viewed some suggestions on this forum, all of which are not working. I dont have a domain pointed to it but have the hostname ready for the domain, Im solely working through the ip side of it. Can any one tell me what I need to do to correct these errors. Any informationd that is needed, please let me know.

Won't /scripts/mailperm do the same thing automatically for all accounts with the problem?
