    Default How To Remove Script

Hi this is probably a noob questions but i can not install wordpress to my root directory because i get the following error:

The installation can not be completed:

    - You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

...and i can not find anywhere in the cPanel any scripts to remove. Has anyone come across this before?

To remove WordPress, at the very bottom of the screen where you would install WordPress you will see an uninstall section. Select the installation of WordPress you want to remove then click the Uninstall button.

It might also be a possibility that there are some files and/or directories that will cause that error. If I remember correctly, at one time, an images folder would cause the problem.

Did you install this from Fantastico or some other option in your control panel?

If Fantastico, check the directory located outside the public_html here:
    /home/yourname/.fantasticodata/

Is there a directory in there called wordpress? If yes, delete the file in that directory. Installing a new script adds a file here with details on where it's located. If you manually deleted all files in public_html, you removed the wordpress install incorrectly. Doing so leaves behind the file mentioned above, and the MySQL database.

Your host should be able to assist you with this.
