Default phpmyadmin 3.3.8 in cPanel 11.28.83?

hi there, I want to share this image because I'm puzzled. The changelog for cPanel 11.28.69 says that it is included an "Implemented case 45782: Update phpMyAdmin 3 to 3.3.9".

But after doing the upgrade to the last Stable (11.28.83), when I log in to phpMyAdmin thru cPanel UI I found that it is still running 3.3.8.1. Below is a picture.

Thus, I can assume that there are other changes that may or may not do it to the las stable version?

    Hello Kent,

Could you try running a forced cPanel update:

    Code:
    /scripts/upcp --force
Then if you could likewise run the following to force an update to PhpMyAdmin:

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/updatephpmyadmin --force
    Thanks

ok, I'll try it tonight. What actually does the "--force" parameter? Does it update one and every component even if it is up to date?

The --force argument tells the script to run an update even if the version of cPanel installed on the server matches the latest version available in the selected update tier. Without the --force argument, an update will not be run if the version of cPanel on the server is already up to date.

It worked. phpmyadmin is now 3.3.9. Why may it have not get updated with no --force usage?

There's no way to answer that question, since whenever there is an update, then it should be updated without needing to use that --force flag. You are very welcome that it did indeed work to get it updated.

I opted to do a full forced upgrade:
    /scripts/upcp --force

It worked fine. phpmyadmin is now updated. It also updated Munin to 1.4.5
I still didn't checked what other components were effectively upgraded, but it is obvious that there is some spourious error in the normal cpanel update process that is not grabbing the right version of the addons and other dependences.
