    Default Postgre SQL - Install

I do not use and am not familiar with Postgre. However, I have a customer who wants to use it and I notice in the X theme, there is a place to install Postgre SQL.

However, I do not know how to get it up and going. Instead, I get this error when attempting to install a db via the custoemr control panel.

No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

AND, the phpPGMyADmin link gives this error....

    >>>> Configuration error: Copy conf/config.inc.php-dist to conf/config.inc.php and edit appropriately.

Is the Postgre SQL feature and phpPGMyAdmin not yet ready? Can anyone help this Postgre newcomer (me)?

    Thanks.

    /scripts/installpostgres

To fix the error with phpPgAdmin, go to /usr/local/cpanel/base/3rdparty/phpPgAdmin and rename conf/config.inc.php-dist to conf/config.inc.php

    Try this:

    # rpm -qa | grep postgres
Delete everything that appears with the following command:
    # rpm -e postgresql-server-7.2.3-5.73 postgresql-7.2.3-5.73 (and anything else, all on one line)
    # rm -rf /var/lib/pgsql/data
    # /scripts/installpostgres

    These people are nuts!!!!!!!!!!

    I ran thought the installpostgresql installation for the 20th time. It installs the following version;

    Building local rpm provides list...Done
Adding Dependency postgresql-libs (required by postgresql-server)
Adding Dependency postgresql (required by postgresql-server)
    postgresql: not installed.
    postgresql-libs: not installed.
    postgresql-server: not installed.

Then there is a new option that says the following from WHM!

    Postgres Config

I take the option and click OK and i see this!!!!

Setting up Postgres Config...You are running an old unsupported postgresql version.
cPanel only supports postgres 7.3.x or better.

So if they only support 7.3.2 why is their updater installing 7.2.3???

Great logic. Use their update program that installs somekind of outdated version!
