    Default Restoring database

My web host provider provides Cpanel X and I am just getting familure with it.

I am attempting to restore a MySQL database without success so far.

When I performed a backup last month it was downloaded with the file name... phpbb.sql.gz

When I view the databases in MySQL the name os the database is... sonnyb2_phpbb

I tried a restore using my backup file phpbb.sql.gz I found no changes in the forum that uses this database.

What am I missing? Do I have to change the name of my backup to... sonnyb2_phpbb before restoring?

    Sorry to be so ignorant,
    Randy

How are you trying to restore it? through the cpanel backup section, phpmyadmin, etc?

    Are you getting any error?

I am attempting to restore it through Cpanel phpp myadmin

No I am not getting any errors.

My problem originates from an accidental prunning of needed topics, once prunned are the entries gone for good?

    Thanks,
    Randy

That question would best be addressed by the maker of the software you are using the database for. From what I see in this thread, it appears this is a database for phpBB so you may want to contact them regarding this question.
