One main change in this release is a limit check ability that can help verify certain limits set in the configuration by the admin are being honored on the running server. Currently only 2 items are checked, the max players value and the server name. I'll probably be extending this to game specific checks such as private/password protected server or not, based on feedback from you folks. To enable the checks, you need to click on the new menu link "Limit Check Config", check the enable box, choose a time to check, I suggest 1 day or more if using email, otherwise if just logging, however often you would typically check the logs for infractions. If using email, give it the address to mail and check the enable box for it. The log, if it exists, will show up below the config (the last 100K worth of data, most recent entries at the top.)
After setting the global config, each user/game/install # needs to be enabled as well, you can find the checkboxes to enable monitoring on their "manage game" page now. To monitor the server name, fill in the "Monitor Server Name" field with text you want to match, for instance if you give a discount to servers that advertise your company in their name, or have a demo server running and you want to be sure if it is hacked and someone changes the name that you are aware of it, enter in a keyword that should be there. For example, if you have a demo server named "cPanel.net cPGS CS:SillyPutty" , you could monitor for "cPanel.net", "cPGS", "SillyPutty", or the whole thing, and get an email if it is found running with a name that does not match.
Let me know if any problems you run into.
0.8.0 is the next big release up next and will have a very different server startup mechanism which should make it a lot nicer than that stupid "start/submit button -> new page with return value" you've dealt with all this time.![]()
