    Default Auto-Updating l4d?

    Hey,

Is anyone else having issues auto updating l4d via cPGS?

I've tried to go into SSH and do the good ol' './steam -command update -game left4dead -dir .' but it starts from scratch and wants to download everything again.

I've had to update into a seperate dir and the mv it to the cPGS dir.

    Any Suggestions/ideas?

    # cd /home/user/.gameservers/
    # ln -s l4d_0 l4d
    # ./hl2_0/steam -command update -game l4d_full -dir .

    hey robbie,

this would be a fix, but it's more of a temp fix, as you'd have to set this up for every customer running l4d manually... such a pain.

    Any other suggestions?

In 0.7.0 a lot of Valve paths are changed around, like /home/user/.gameservers/hl2_0/ with cstrike selected is now /home/user/.gameservers/cstrikesrc_0/ , I'll probably move l4d into a subdirectory "l4d" of l4d_0 and such so that steam updates are less troublesome.
Need to put in a support ticket for cPGS ? Click on the url below and follow the bottom most link "Submit a Support Request without Logging In"

    hey darren,

will that mean if someone has a CSS server and a DODS server, they will have 2 installation folders? (/home/user/.gameservers/cstrikesrc_0/ && /home/user/.gameservers/dodsrc_0/)

That will start getting annoying for myself and probably a few other people who offer 'all HL2 Based Games' on each server installation (CSS/DoDS/TF2 etc.), along with HL1 Based Games...

    I sort of agree.

However. If you (darren) or a member of the cPanel development team create a file manager dedicated to the gaming folders.

So like instead of using that cPanel one when you go through a dozen folders. You just click the CPGS file manager and it takes you direct to that game folder.

Upload, edit, delete, copy, move, save

All that needs to be done to make it a very good FREE game control panel
