    Default BF2 Update?

One of my users reported that a client and server update was released for Battlefield 2.

Any idea when this will be packaged?

    Thanks.

How about... today I'm downloading it now, will test it out after dev meeting and lunch and see if I can get it pushed out. Thanks for letting me know about it

    Well, that was fast!

But if you did push it out, I'm not seeing it in the cPGS yet. The only entry I'm seeing for Battlefield 2, is v1.41 (1.1.2965-797.0) dated April 2008.

Do I need to do anything special to the setup for it to "see" the update?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, you need me to put it in the first directory on the right server first

I just pushed it to the mirror seed server and to cpgs.network3.net as bf2-1.5.cpgs , Once it's been verified as ok by everyone after awhile I'll replace the 1.4 version in bf2.cpgs. For now you can download it as is with wget and select the package to use as the new one in the "manage game" for any user's game/install # you want, otherwise you can just rename it over the current bf2.cpgs so it will be used as default for when installing.

    # cd /home/gameservers/
    # wget http://cpgs.network3.net/bf2-1.5.cpgs
    (and optionally..)
    # mv bf2-1.5.cpgs bf2.cpgs

If you have any problems with it, put in a ticket so I can take a look at what's going on.

    Thanks, Darren!

I'll ask my client what he wants to do: wait until "official" or try it as-is.

    Appreciate the quick response!

I'll post back if there's a further problem.

EDIT: Never mind me. I should have Googled before asking, lol.

Installed the missing lib with YUM and all is running now.

Just the remaining "can't save config" error, but I see a fix for that in another post.

    Hi again, Darren.

Finally got around to installing this update.

But, when I try to start it, it fails saying it can't find/connect to:

    libstdc++.so.5

Is that just something I need to install with YUM??

Or am I missing something else here?

    Thanks in advance.
