As ryan said he has passed the bins over to Activision QA for testing and final approval.

If for any reason WaW doesnt run successfully with the 1.1 compiled bins Activision will then obviously try to fix any bugs and ask ryan to compile a new bin.

If they deem there is too much work to get 1.1 working sufficiently Activision may scrap 1.1 and ask ryan to compile the 1.2 bins when that is ready.

Also remember ryan is under an NDA!

regardless, its still taking too long... for us GSP's the market is pretty much gone for COD5.

While unfortunate the server isn't released still, it's hard to blame anyone without knowing the details. It seems the ball has been in Activision's court for awhile, Ryan can't do anything else at this point.
I'm leaving bright and early tomorrow (Tuesday) morning for the holidays, I'll have my laptop with me and hopefully will have some internet I can check in with in case of any emergencies.

Last I checked two days ago they still didn't have Linux gameserver binaries available. I wish they would hurry up, I'm tired of hosting CoD5 servers on Windows.

Still no dedicated server release that I've seen, I'm hoping this won't go the route of the UT3 linux client.

It was supposed to ship with the Windows client on the DVD, but it still hasn't been released although it is being worked on. It's also being handled by Ryan Gordon over at icculus.org . From what I've read, there is/was a legal issue involving some middleware stuff preventing completion, but it seems that was coded around. Hopefully it'll come out here in 2009
    I think we'll see a CoD:WaW server before the UT3 client since it's a lot less complicated.
