Once a non-beta dedicated linux server is released and I get a copy of the game, it should be out shortly thereafter.

Nothing released yet![]()
Peeps that want first hand news on the linux bins which ryan from icculus is compiling should join the mailing list.
There's a mailing list for COD server admins. Send a blank email to cod-subscribe@icculus.org to get on the list.
Update for linux bins from ryan@icculus.
COD:WaW was handed off to Activision QA last night.
If you need more information, I'm sure you can find someone's phone number to ask them.

I'm interested in this very much as well. I hope these are out soon.![]()
Yes hopefully this will be released soon so i get get a server up and running to play on.
Darren, have you even received the files yet?
If you belong the mailing list posted above, there is a tutorial out on running the game in Wine.
But no official Linux bins have been released from the game developers.
Xiode (any anyone else curious) - nope, still waiting on some non-beta linux files to come out. I'll never attempt to support a game through Wine, as good as it may work, making sure people have a proper Wine install and config is way beyond the scope of cPGS. I'd be pretty surprised if we make it to the new year without a release, especially as more folks get copies of the game for xmas/hanukkah/winter solstice/whatever you celebrate if anything. I'll try to pick up my own copy of the game soon so I can get right on it once the linux server is released. if they don't release it by the end of this week, it probably won't happen until 2009 as i'm leaving town on the 23rd and won't be back until the 29th.
It's not like Ryan to take so long. Something must be fubarred although I see some linux cod5's out there. He is usually pretty quick with other game titles.
