    Default Cannot Start TF2 Servers

I cannot get TF2 to show up under the "Select and save the desired game type, then edit the options available." settings. I've changed and selected it in the "manage game" console as well as checked the /var/cpanel/gameserv.cfg file.

    It shows:
    username_hl2_0_mods|cstrike,tf,dod,hl2mp

I tried it with less or more to see if that worked, but every time it shows css,dod and hl2mp but not tf. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the help.

That's a stupid typo on my part. Try doing a forced reinstall of 0.6.2 and see if you still experience the problem.

OK I'm trying to get the server to start. It is set to tf2 in cpgs. But when I click start it just goes to the screen that says "Here you can start/stop the Half-Life2 server and make changes to the configuration." and has a Start button. When I click that it just reloads the same page. I also can't set max players, because every time I save it writes it out again.

I thought maybe I needed to update the server version and got this for the TF2 portion:
Updating HalfLife2 Team Fortress : Source..

    "Checking bootstrapper version ..."
    "Updating Installation"
    "Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Content' version 35"
    "0.00% /home/tf2/.gameservers/hl2_0//orangebox\tf\bin\server.dll"
    "0.00% /home/tf2/.gameservers/hl2_0//orangebox\tf\bin\server_i486.so"
    "0.00% /home/tf2/.gameservers/hl2_0//orangebox\tf\cfg\360controller.cfg"
    "Failed to set file attributes"
Also you still have it setup to accept and name and pass for steam updates, which is outdated as steam no longer requires them.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks for the help .

The steam user/pass options are for people who want to update the restricted content, you can leave it empty and it will use the 'anonymous' download method instead.
I've never seen the "Failed to set file attributes" error before. Are some of the files owned by root or have the immutable flag set somehow ?
If you want, put in a ticket so I can look at the maxplayers issue and can take a look at the steam update as well.

Im experiencing the same issue. Ive updated the files using the steam update. When i go to start the server it just pops back up with the start button.

    How was this issue resolved?

Did you update it using the root account at any time ? Make sure all the files are owned by the user and not root or some other account even. If you have a problem be sure to send in a ticket, I sometimes miss emails entirely
