COD4 - server will not update pb

I got it updated for Lestat so put in a ticket and I should be able to do the same for you. I'm writing in a routine to have punkbuster updated before each game start (for the games that are supported by punkbuster and have it enabled) that should take care of most of these issues.

The next release has a routine to update PB before each time the server is started, but it may be a little while longer before that release is ready. Feel free to put in a ticket and I can let you know all the commands I ran to get it updated so you can do it again to any other servers that need it.

Do this to fix the problem.

1º, Go to /home/username/.gameservers/cod4_#/
2º, delete the pb folder
3º, create a pb folder and upload the file pbsvnew.so from PunkBuster Online Countermeasures, for linux: http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/cod4/pbsvnew.so or for windows http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/cod4/pbsvnew.dll .
4º, go to the rcon tool or to the rcon control of the game, and type:
pb_sv_update
5º type:
pb_sv_restart
6º type:
pb_sv_ver

Then u will see:
19:08:57 pb_sv_ver
19:08:57 ^3GV PunkBuster^5: PunkBuster Server (v1.740 | A0 C0.000) Enabled

Then the server is updated!!!

Hi Darren, I have done those steps you suggested but when I'm ingame I constantly get reports that the server is outdated. The server has the following files in the htm/

la001407.htm lc002200.htm ma001407.htm mc002200.htm wa001407.htm wc002200.htm

I noticed however on the Punkbuster website that the newest version is 2203, but the pbsetup.run doesnt download/update beyond the 2200.

Any suggestions?

Make sure the copy of pbsetup.run is actually working, the copy they distribute seems to not work due to their packing the binary with UPX or something, I have a working and unencoded binary at cpgs.cpanel.net/pbsetup.run you might try. If all else fails, put in a ticket and I'll take a look
