Cod4 Servers Being Used to DDOS - How to Fix

Hi Everyone,

first off - thanks to Darren and CO as they offer this awesome tool and continue to update it.

However, I'd like to bring something to all of your attention - and I'd highly recommend you update your cod4_lnxded files.

You can read all about it there. That being said - Darren - I highly recommend you modify the distro package for COD4 and include the line +server_queryignore 8000 to the start up line.

Essentially - i had 12 cod4 servers up and running, and my servers were being used by "hackers" to ddos innocent people using the server query exploit.

I'd recommend reading up on it. This server patch works with COD4 and CPGS like a charm.

First delete your cod4_lnxded in your game server folder,

download the patch and chmod +X to the patch.

Thanks for the heads up and info about this. I have built a new cod4 package, but it's with the package management code in v0.9.0 and would only be broken in 0.8.x if I pushed it to the mirrors right now. I'm hoping to have 0.9.0 out by next week, this will be available with it.
