Counter Strike Protocol Update

Hi,

I'm currently running a Counter Strike (1.6) server, and have had a number of users contact me in regards to protocol errors they are receiving (Server running P47, They're running P48).

Is it possible to update the distribution to enable dual-protocol support?

If not, Is it possible to do it myself or perform an upgrade? If anyone else here as done so, I'd appreciate the support.

You should be able to run a regular steam update on the server to get it updated to the latest version. SSH in as the user (or su to the user as root) and cd to the /home/user/.gameservers/hlds_l_0/ (or whatever directory the server is in) and run:

./steam -command update -game cstrike -dir .

Make sure you don't update the server as root, or if you do, you recursively chown the files back to the account owner. Restarting the server should then not get any protocol errors. Also enabling autoupdate from the cPGS interface may work so that it updates itself when stopped/started. If none of that helps feel free to put in a ticket for me.
