    Default CSS tickrate changes

    Hey Darren,

Just noticed that when you create a HL2 server, if you want to change the tickrate down the track, it looks like you need to go in and recreate the whole account again, not just go into "Manage Game" and edit it there.

Might want to look into it a bit more...

I'll do the same from my end.

I think the way it is currently is that it needs to have the config options changed in the config file as well as the command line append option. There's no compilation going on at install time that would require a reinstall to change the tickrate value. On my to-do list is a check for each game's configs and to reset them to defaults if asked (in case a client fubar's their config) which should negate the need to reinstall the server.

Yes in fact you can change the tick rate in the manage games. You must choose which install such as 0 or 1. If you change the tick to 100 and you have the cmd and updaterate set too 66 you would need to change that. Vice versa you wouldn't need to bother because you would be capped anyways.

But yes, I have changed it before.

I had 100 tickrate, and the server would use 100 tickrate, then after I changed it to 66 tick, it would still push 100 tick... and my user only had 1 installation on their account.

If what you say is correct then if you eliminated all reference of any specified tick then it would still be 100 tic. It should default to 33. I will try this tomorrow as well as changing the tick back and forth.

I changed the tick to 66, 33 and back to 100 successfully. I recommend you put in a support ticket and have Darren figure out exactly what you are doing or not doing. I wish I could have been more help. :/

    Was you using net_graph 3?

That does not show true tick options.
Take a look at the startup line and make sure it is changing to 100/66/33/nothing as specified.

yeah, I was looking in the start up line, and it was still showing 100. Tried a different server a few minutes ago, and it worked fine :S

If it comes up again I'll open a support ticket with Darren.
