    Default Current Version: 0.7.3

    Hey all,

Today I'm finally releasing 0.7.3 into the wild, hopefully it will update smoothly for everyone.
This release is another biggie, tons of changes, fixes, a few features, etc. Here are some of the more important changes:

    Teamspeak 3 support

Introduced a new limit for total number of servers a client can run

    - For example, you say "ok client, you can have 4 servers installed at any given time, but can only run 2 of them". This is useful for times when a client wants to try out changes on a "test" server while keeping their working server safe, or if they want to run a modified server most of the time but have a "match" server ready for official league play.

Added a reinstall option to client frontend

    - Should ease clients worries about an uninstall option without being sure they can reinstall it

Added ability to save X number of log files

    - Rather than overwriting each log file every time the server starts, admins can now set a number of log files to save, automatically expiring the oldest ones. This can help greatly when looking for problems.

Moved list account page to main page

    - Now it is much easier to find an account and jump right into the configured & installed game server by clicking on the cPanel logo (just like in the main WHM list accounts page.)

    Added BSD::Resource limit cleaning

    - Under several different cases it seems cPGSD was being subjected to resource limits too strict for games to run, with the only known fix ebign to restart cPGSD from the shell manually. Now the limits should be cleared in the event this happens.

    Initial Quake 2 support

    Initial Nexuiz support

Added open in the Global cPGS Config to try out beta or stable releases

    - While cPGS itself is still considered BETA until the 1.0 release, many folks seem eager to try out new releases before they are officially out, so now if you want to follow the official (stable) release you can, or if feeling more daring you may choose the beta release, which may or may not work at any given time.

    -------------------------------

There are a ton of other little things that got added, changed or removed, most of which you will hopefully not notice

As always, if there are any problems, put in a ticket for me and I will look into it first thing Tuesday (I won't be in Monday due to office being closed in observation of Memorial Day.)

Thanks for the info Darren, and thanks for your help earlier

I was wondering... on the CPanel interface side of cPGS, is there going to be an option for uploading new maps, and editing motd, and map cycle lists for the various games (especially the HL / HL2 based games)??? That would be a great feature I think.

Yep, that's covered in Case 35641, but isn't due out until 1.0, it's probably the largest challenge I have to face in cPGS still, because it's not always about uploading from client to server, but from client to server to server (when using remote server feature) and then there's the issue of broken downloads and resuming, etc.

Yeah I can see how that'd be a headache... Well.. good to know it's on the list of additions for the future.. and again thanks for all your hard work.. it makes our lives easier.

Unless i'm missing something, neither Nexuiz or Quake 2 is available on the download gameservers list or on any of the mirrors yet?

Or is that what you mean by initial support? the backend is there but no files yet?

Sorry, thought I'd gotten the Q2 and Nexuiz packages up, but put them in the wrong place, once I get access back to the server I will fix that up asap, as well as updating the cPGS website with relevant information ^_^
I'm going to update a lot of the steam based games soon as well since their packages are pretty old now.

I'm no Perl programmer, but in the world of PHP + shell, just upload to server 1 (WHM server) and SCP it over to server 2 (Game Server), delete original once transfer complete and checksum/size verification. Then again, you could also keep a folder of the uploaded files on the WHM server and rsync them (would allow for the resume feature).
