    Exclamation Custom cPGS

    @Darren

    I've just started messing around again creating custom packages
    coop12_l4d.cpgs shows up fine in the drop down menu and installs fine but it doesn't show me anything else. Is there anything that will show me the "SM 1.3.2" "MM 1.8.2" in the header that was packed or have I done something wrong?

    How I created package below!

    cd /home/testing/.gameservers/l4d_0

    tar czvf ../coop12_l4d.cpgs ./

    cd /home/testing/.gameservers

    /var/cpanel/cpgs/cpgs_pkg coop12_l4d.cpgs -p "l4d" "SM 1.3.2" "MM 1.8.2"

    mv coop12_l4d.cpgs /home/gameservers/

    Name: l4d
    Version: SM 1.3.2
    Misc: MMS 1.8.2

    Using the command in console works fine but is there any way to see this in cPanel so when Im setting up a server so I know which .cpgs file to use or can I only go by the name i.e coop12_l4d.cpg?

    Are you looking at the dropdown menu in WHM where you would select the package to be installed ? If so, currently it won't report any version info there. I'll make a feature request case to show the version info there to help aid in selecting the desired package, that would probably be helpful to most anyone using custom packages.

    Thumbs up

    That would be great m8 & thumbs up on the 0.7.3 release

    Also I was hoping with this new update you would be supporting the orangebox base!

    I have a few mods that run using the orangebox base only, as they don't work with say the DOD:S/HL2 orangebox

    Now is there anyway I can get cPGS to download just the orangebox base? by doing this I could install it as a game so then I could get the game/mod to start/run by using the cPGS.

    At the moment I'm having to install manually using hldsupdatetool.bin and running the games through console!

    Thx for all the hard work!

    RasterMan - put in a ticket for me with an example of the Orangebox base and a mod you are using with it so I can get an idea of how to best add it and package it, etc.

    Just out of curiousity Darren, and not to make more work for you, is it possible to build a web-form based custom package creator to cPGS, and is there perhaps an API, or syntax/location data sheet on cPGS if say for example a 3rd party wanted to build such a web application?

    @Darren

    My dedi had a hdd failure but Eoin from DCH did a great job of recovering most of my data, which included all of my custom game server images

    As for the orangebox issue I will get on it as soon as I deal with the reinstall of my dedi

    Cyber-Surfer - Case 35642 deals with documenting the API for cPGS, 39997 is for me to come up with a unified API (right now it uses several different calling methods), 35634 is a package manager so you guys could more easily create snapshots of server installs into a game.cpgs file to copy elsewhere, share or reuse on other accounts within the cPGS framework. So, yes I have those in my current workload, but they will be a little while before done. Documenting the API probably won't be done until the 1.0 release as the API itself won't be complete until then.
