having same problem
ok worked out the issue but i ended up updating it from command line then also duplicating srcds_linux into srcds_i486 maybe this needs to be fixed some where

Yep, a recent steam update deleted the old binary srcds_i486 and replaced it with srcds_linux for several games, the fix is to edit it in /var/cpanel/cpgs/games/<game>/<game>.pm , there is only one occurrence of it so it should be easy to find. If anyone has any trouble with this, put in a ticket for me.
