Hmm, perl 5.6.2 is very old (Released on Nov 16th, 2003)... Is there an update available for that machine's distro ?

It was running Cent OS 5.. Odd

No worries, i ran sudo apt-get remove perl (was then going to reinstall but no success)

Didnt realise the devistation it would caus to the server

In the end just reinstalled the OS and cpanel and got it up and running

    Thanks!

I'm looking at an ancient Centos 3.9 machine right now and it's got perl 5.8.0-88.9 available from yum updates. I'll assume that this was a unique situation, if it comes up again I might add a warning somewhere about the minimum perl version allowed. Be sure to let me know if you see it again, thanks !
