    Default Hl2:dm

Having a problem getting my Half-Life2 Death Match Server running off the new engine.

    This is my Current commandline,
    /home/XXXXX/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0/srcds_i686 -dir /home/XXXXX/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0/ -game hl2mp +maxplayers 16 +ip 63.77.93.35 +port 27015 +exec server.cfg +map dm_steamlab

What would I have to change to get it working with the new update?

Hi there, I just installed a DM server with cPGS (Just to test for you) and it installed/updated & Started fine! Do you have any error logs?

It installs, and starts up fine, but it starts up using the old engine and is not join-able..it doesn't start up using the new orangebox engine.....when trying to join the server, it says Server has not updated to the most recent version. which it of course is updated..but not running off the new orangebox engine. Commandline is still pointing to the old engine...

After some testing the master image needs to be rebuilt and the hl2mpsrc.pm needs some editing.

If you can't wait for Darren I hope this can help you all!

I started from scratch so there would be no problems:

You will need remote & ftp access.

Launch your ftp program of choice and backup or delete /home/gameservers/hl2mpsrc.cpgs

Next go into /home/accountname/.gameservers and create a folder called for EXAMPLE: hl2mpsrc_0

Then in whatever remote console program you use (I use Putty)

    Type these commands:
    cd /home/accountname/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0
    wget http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.bin
    chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin
    ./hldsupdatetool.bin
    chmod +x steam
    ./steam

Follow any instructions that steam says!

    Type these commands:
    cd /home/accountname/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0/
    ./steam -command update -game "hl2mp" -dir /home/accountname/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0

Once the game has finished downloading delete the hldsupdatetool.bin file & copy the /var/cpanel/cpgs/games/hl2mpsrc/default_server.cfg to /home/accountname/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0/orangebox/hl2mp/cfg and rename server.cfg

Now for the next step to create cpsg image:

    Type these commands:
    cd /home/accountname/.gameservers/hl2mpsrc_0
    tar czvf ../hl2mpsrc.cpgs ./
    cd /home/accountname/.gameservers
    /var/cpanel/cpgs/cpgs_pkg hl2mpsrc.cpgs -p "hl2mpsrc" "Updated" "30/10/10"
    mv hl2mpsrc.cpgs /home/gameservers/

Next step is to extract and copy hl2mpsrc.pm which I have edited and added to this post to: /var/cpanel/cpgs/games/hl2mpsrc
Once you've done that you will need to restart cpgs in your remote console by typing: /var/cpanel/cpgsd.pl

Now you can install a hl2mpsrc server!

This has been tested by myself and works but please note that there might be a few bugs but hopefully this will get you up and running until Darren gets things sorted out!

I end up with this error after running the .bin file

Enter 'yes' to accept this agreement, 'no' to decline: yes
    sh: uncompress: command not found
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

If can't uncompress, in your remote console type: yum install ncompress

Then you be able to carry on m8

Thanks for the heads up, I'll update this for the 0.7.4 release. Right now I'm stuck on the cPanel update scripts so the 0.7.4 release is being held back until I'm done with this other project. Until then, rasterman's instructions should work just fine. Thanks RasterMan
