    Default L4D Memory Leaks

    Hey Darren,

    I have a L4D Customer with L4D memory leaks.

When it starts up it uses about 240mb...

5 days later its at 824mb..... Using over 25% of the Memory...

When ever I restart it, it goes back to normal and then increases again..

This isn't a player issue. It increases itself in time...

Why and how can I fix this?

According to the valve mailing lists and numerous forum posts, that's just how it is:

    forum.i3d.net/hlds-valve-linux-newsletter/56733-hlds_linux-l4d-srcds-linux-memory-leak.html+l4d+memory+leak

Since the source code is not under my control, there's not much I can do for memory leaks in the servers other than suggest restarting them every day or so, as many do. It's sad to see that, especially on a Linux/BSD box, but game servers are notorious for this sort of behavior.
