    Default modify the hl2.cpgs file

What would be the process to edit the default installation that cPGS does?

I want the default files to include some extra folder and files, save uploading after the install is done.

Is it something you'd need to do darren, or is it simple enough to package the cpgs file myself.

    cheers

Here's a dirty walkthrough to edit the "official" hl2.cpgs :

    # mkdir hl2
    # cd hl2
    # tar xfj /path/to/hl2.cpgs

(now you've got a base install of the game in your newly created hl2 directory. make whatever changes here, add, remove, modify whatever you want. I suggest testing the changes to be sure everything is ok. once tested and everything is to your liking, package it back up)

    # tar cfj /path/to/mynewhl2.cpgs
    # /var/cpanel/cpgs/cpgs_pkg /path/to/mynewhl2.cpgs -p "hl2" "version" "custom mod w/ frikin lasers"

that will run for a while and package the file with the needed info. Now you can select your "mynewhl2.cpgs" or whatever you called it in WHM when configuring an account in the "manage game" section and it will be used when installing that game on that account. If you want to make it the default for all new installs without configuring each one, just use hl2.cpgs as the name.

Let me know if that doesn't work out.

thanks darren, tried the above and this is what happend:

    root@svr2 [/home/public01/hl2-custom]# tar xfj /home/gameservers/hl2.cpgs
    bzip2: (stdin) is not a bzip2 file.
    tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
    root@svr2 [/home/public01/hl2-custom]#

    ******************************
Also tried this: It seemed to do something for a bit, and then a few mins later displayed the error.

    root@svr2 [/home/public01/hl2-custom]# tar xf /home/gameservers/hl2.cpgs

gzip: stdin: decompression OK, trailing garbage ignored
    tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
    root@svr2 [/home/public01/hl2-custom]#

    Cheers

woops, try `tar xzf /path/to/hl2.cpgs` , I gave you the args for bzip files, not gzipped files that we are using now.
