Howdy,
I've gotten half way thru the install, but in the readme I came across this:
-Half-Life-
Create a "Steam" account from http://www.steampowered.com/ and download the gameserver. You willprobably need to update the steam client. After that you can download the various mods. currently support Half-Life mods are: Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Death Match Classic. Once you have these mods downloaded, you can package the directory:
cd /path/to/gamserver
tar cjvf hlds.server.tar.bz2 hlds_l
mv hlds.server.tar.bz2 /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/
There is no linux version of steam, so I'm puzzled what i'm downloading. Do I download something on winderz and then xfer to the server? Do I download the individual games as well and xfer to the server?
Anything else I'm not catching/asking about that might snag me on this setup? (if I'm not familar with this type of setup)
Sorry to be so lost, but totally new at game server setup. I'm doing this for our company for employee use.
Thanks
