I suggest ... Being able to install one gameserver type one a certain user
for example
3 ET:QW servers on the user 'test'
See what I mean?

I believe this was sorta mentioned but, as an end user it's worth hammering home.
Some way to update game files after patch releases, and update punkbuster.
I tried to update COD4 by just overwriting the files in .gameservers but, this forces you to reinstall the server which puts you right back to square 1 with an old version of your game.
This is most helpful to the end user but, will also benefit any hosting provider that decides to use cpGS. Especially the newer startup GSPs. If you've got a smaller staff or a 1 person staff like some will, you won't be able to catch every update to every game. If the Renter/end user can update the files without having to contact the host it will be a much better experience.
Updating the game I found easy, but it would be nice to have a global update function, where there are update packages released (for cPGS) and downloading/running them extract and overwrite all of those one servers you have.
Something like a "Patches Available" in both WHM and cPanel would be good, so if a user wants to upgrade they can, or an upgrade can be done on all selected servers in WHM.
For punkbuster, I think that ha supposed to update on its own while the server is running.
It is already possible to build the .cpgs files, so a hosting company could, for example, take the provided package, unpack it, patch it with whatever updates they want, then repack it and use their new version. I'll try to get the info on how to do this more public soon.
I like the idea of an "update server installs" button or an auto patch button, I'll have to test out ways to determine what is installed and what is available, and ensure that patches or updates don't clobber any special settings, affect a running server by changing the binaries/libs out from underneath it, or reset their non backed up config for some mod they installed.
To take some load off you I am happy to manage the COD4 package if you have some information on how to pack these files?
1) Allow one user to have multiple server (i.e.- 2 Counter strike Servers)
2) The ability of root to restrict resellers to specific IP's (i.e.- you want a reseller to only be able to install servers on one server or one range of IP's)
These are my main things I am having issues with, Darren they would be nice, but don't lose sleep over them, you've done much more than I could have ever asked for this panel.
Thanks,
Eric
D man if u want to see what i have been working on as a shoutcast manager you could take my work and encorp some coding to making a simple addon for the CPGS or creating a small free addon for shoutcast. i have designed it in php+mysql+ajax
so we add pac man to it. then its a game =p
If Pacman is multiplayer, has a linux server binary which would be free to host and was popular enough...
I'd think it would be okay
How ever then your moving to copy right law... So then the original pacman development company and the rights owners would have to agree to having pacman revived in a multi player environment (If it isn't in a multi player environment atm).
Hi guys.
Got a couple ideas...
first one being... having the option for clients to change there password for FTP and login via the cPGS when using the gs theme.
Also, having the ability to modify files and upload/download file from within cPGS, i.e. File manager used in the cpanel area.
And also the ability to install mods/addons from with the cpgs menu.
Cheers,
are the above features, something you'd look at adding?
These are good idea's. I'm not sure if they will be added any time soon, but you should be able to add the password modification section and file manager by editing the template (so I figure).
If you have to end up doing it before cpgs does perhaps you should tar it up let the community know.
Again Smart thinking![]()
I wish i could lol... but im not the coding type... i only know very basic stuff lol... If i fugure it out, i'll definently share![]()
Another idea, when server is set to "not allowed" also having an option for "suspended" and displaying a custom message so when they login they can see its been suspended, the reason why... and what they need to do next.
