Old version of cPGS, cant upgrade, does anyone know how to use it?

Hey everyone, I have an old version of cPGS, my WHM says unknown version. I dont have root access, therefore cannot upgrade... Could anyone explain how it works, detailed steps please.

You have to have root access to update cPGS; as stated in your support ticket, reseller access is not sufficient. Most all of these files are owned by root and I'm pretty sure server admins would be upset with me if I let any reseller or other user update their files on a whim. You should be asking your host for help on this or getting your own server.

I understand that you need root level access to update CpGS but does one need root level access to update the games using CpGS?

My host is telling me I have to update the program but I do not have root level access. I am a reseller but not VPS user. I host other websites via my WHM but I cannot get root level access to CpGS.

Is updating the games like BF2142 from 1.20 to 1.25 the responsibility of the hosting provider?

Jim - Ultimately the job of updating the game server versions rests with me. The new version allows for easy self-packaging, but it got put on hold by my boss(es) so I could focus on cp11 support. Updating the cPGS files won't help, but updating the gameserver package files (like you'd find on a mirror) is how to update the versions available. I updated all the servers already for the new version, but will probably have to do it again by the time cp11 support dies down. Currently there isn't much you can do to update the servers other than install them on the client's account and then update each server like you normally would via SSH without a control panel.
