Server install crashes server ?
Alrite peeps
i have recently install CPGS to my CPanel on my server and went to install a cs source server the frist install went perfectly fine but i had to delete the user account. I created a new one and went to reinstall a fresh server but now when it is installing it is geting to something like 26% unpacking files then the server just hangs and ive left it over 2+ hours and still nothin even cpanel doesnt respond so server crash ? i have tried installing a team speak and other small file servers less than the 3gb hl2 and go fine without issue. I have also tried redownloading the game files and same issue. am at a loss dunno if its a cpanel issue or my server ? just thought id post here first before i contact my host. Server Dual Core 1gb ram 40gb hard drive 10mb unmetered UK based any help would be great thanks alot Chris. |

Reapa - Sounds like your server crashed if cPanel and everything else went belly up. If you can still log into the machine via SSH, put in a ticket with me at cPanel (see my sig) and I'll see if I can figure out what's up, otherwise contact your host to get it back online and stuff first.

It sounds like the entire server is crashing when it gets under heavy load; experience says the server may have bad ram as nothing will find and push bad ram over the edge faster than file compression which taxes most all the system. Put in a ticket for me and I'll see if I can find out for sure. You may want to have the datacenter run memtest86+ on the server to check if the ram is on the way out.

Hi Darren
i have submitted a support ticket for you to login to the server. As my dc doesnt work support over the weekend i will ask them to run memtest / check the ram on monday if the issue cannot be found by yourself / cpanel staff. As i am off out on the beer tonight i will respond to any replies tomorrow. Thanks alot Chris. |
