Default Sorry, this account is not allowed to start game servers..

Alright. I'm very new to cPGS (just started today). I've got cPGS installed on my VPS, and a remote dedicated box for gameservers. I've got two game servers installed on the remote box -- one CS:S, one TF2.

I'm logged into WHM as root, and I am logged into cPanel with the user account I specified during setup (in this case, it's wickeds).

In cPanel, I don't see the "Game Servers" icon, but I do see the text. (I understand the icon is supposed to show if everything is configured properly.) I can click on the text, but when I go to start a game server (either one), I get the following:

Sorry, this account is not allowed to start game servers,
please contact your hosting provider for more information.

Under "Manage Game" for either server (under the proper user), both "Server Allowed" fields are set to "Allowed". Am I missing something?

    -Dave

EDIT: I tried a force reinstall, that didn't help (though I do see the icon now). I created a new account, tried that. No such luck. I'm guessing there's a checkbox I missed somewhere. There has to be somewhere I can go to configure user permissions.. starting/stopping, Steam updates, uninstalling/deleting servers...

Hey, I got your email. If in /var/cpanel/gameserv.cfg you have a line like

    user_game_0_allowed|||1

then that user/game/install # should not be showing the error you are getting. If that looks like, put in a ticket for me to go over it cause something screwy must be going on to see that error message.

Yeah, that's what it looked like. I appreciate the response, but I got it sorted not long ago. For whatever reason, it didn't like me using the wickeds account, so I created an account called "games". I forgot that's one of the default accounts in a Linux installation.. because the UID is under 100, it won't let me use that name. I created a new, unused account, and it works fine.

After that was sorted, the server still wouldn't start. That was because the 32-bit executables wouldn't run on my 64-bit system --I didn't have the ia32 libs installed. Got those installed, and now it starts, but I still can't connect to the game server. I'm doing another force reinstall and building one from scratch to see if that helps.

    Quite the adventure
If the server is starting but you can't connect, check for firewall rules `iptables -L -n |less` that might be blocking the server, sometimes `dmesg` will show connections being blocked if logging rules are enabled as well. If you run out of ideas and it's still not working feel free to put in a ticket.

I think I've got it sorted. I believe starting from scratch took care of the game server issues. The firewall on my VPS was blocking outbound traffic on the game server port, so all I saw was a bunch of N/As where information should have been. I took care of that, and now those fields are populated properly. I think my only problem now is the pictures (for each game type) aren't showing up in the user's cPanel. Not a big deal -- it may be because I locked down that cPanel account pretty good.

EDIT: The graphic for TF2 shows, but not CS:S. Odd.

That is odd, is it missing in multiple browsers ? The logo image file should be
    https://your.server.tld:2083/frontend/gs/logos/
    or with the x3 theme
    https://your.server.tld:2083/fronten...ameserv/logos/
Let me know if it's missing or something.
