Default WHM and installing CPGS. Need help

    Super newb here.

I have been searching around the past few days trying to work out how to Install a game server onto my web host.

    Some details:
    Domain: /http://www.MurQ.net
    Host: Crazydomains /http://www.crazydomains.com.au/
Cpannel: Yes, I can access it
Version: It says when i sign it:
    Apache version 2.2.17
    PHP version 5.2.14
    MySQL version 5.0.91-community
    Path to PERL /usr/bin/perl
    Kernel version 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5
    cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)
    My web host package:

I want to install Counter Strike: Source game server. I have logged into cpannel many times. I havent seen anything about WHM before. If i have access to cpannel does that mean i have access to whm somewhere?

Am i running current cpannel version? Can i update it?

If i have cpannel can i get WHM free?

Is there a way to install a cPGS with Cpannel?

Any more info i can provide to help??

And yes i have sent a email to my provide about this. No reply yet.

    Thankyou Very much.

The WebHost Manager is the portion of the cPanel interface that is used by server administrators to administer the server. This lets server admins create and terminate accounts, adjust account limits, start, stop and restart services, and many other administration tasks. If you have access to the WHM, you would log into both the WHM and SSH as root.

From what you have described, you have only a cPanel account on a shared hosting server, and you do not have access to the WebHost Manager. You will not be able to install cPGS with this level of access. cPGS is a cPanel plugin, and plugins require root access to the WebHost Manager to install. There is no way to work around this without access to the WHM.

In order to gain access to the WebHost Manager, you need either a dedicated server or a VPS with cPanel installed, not just a cPanel hosting package on a shared host. We maintain a searchable list of partners who provide cPanel on dedicated and virtual servers on the following pages:

cPanel Partner Search - cPanel Inc.
Purchase cPanel Products - cPanel Inc.

Thankyou, this has answered alot of questions.

So if I contacted my provider, is it possible for them to install the plugin so I have access to it via CPannel

And yeah they've been very helpful so if it is possible I think they could help me on it.

It is certainly possible for your host to install cPGS and give you access to it so that you can use it in your cPanel, but whether they are willing to or not is going to depend on their own policies.

I am glad I was able to help!
