Also I can't seem to figure out, with what I've read, the difference between a plugin and an addon...

This thread is very old, so that could be assisting with the confusion. We haven't supported cPanel add-ons (not to be confused with cPAddons) for a number of years now. cPanel Plug-ins is the way to add new functionality to the cPanel interface now.

Try running the following command via SSH as root:

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/rebuild_sprites

an image showing the plugin in my WHM customer feature list...
Addon install in WHM and in cPanel-image_1.png

Would really like to be able to add a link to my customised features. I've probably done something wrong, as it must have worked for others, and I would like to know what?

I've seen that I could make, the plugin feature that I want, appear in the cpanel of my customer by modifying the:
    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/index.html
and add the appropriate code myself, is that the step I missed, a good or a bad way to proceed?

Like I said I need some help with this... a detailed way of proceeding would be handy...

I've done as explained in cPanel Plugins Installation Instructions and it does'nt seem to work as I thought it would.

    Ok I went to:

and it did'nt write any code in there, but when I had this code manually everything shows as expected:

It is possible your changes may be reverted in the next upcp.

Any particular reason you're still using the x theme rather than the x3 theme? We no longer maintain the x theme and it will be fully deprecated in version 12. If you just like the appearance of the x theme, just use the x style of the x3 theme instead.

    Hello,

I have installed a plugin with a description name in spanish and it appears as it in the cPanel. How can I make it so it has a different name for other languages?

Also, I would like to know how can I change the name of some links on cPanel like Fantastico? So I can add something like Install Scripts.

    Thanks.

At this time, it is not possible to do that. Once a plugin is generated, that information will be used for all languages.

Regarding changing the names of some links, what specifically are you talking about? Are you looking to rename some of the features we provide in the cPanel interface?

For built-in features, these phrases are controlled by the language file. Feel welcome to copy the english-utf8 language file to something else (e.g. myEnglish) and edit that as you desire. You can also change the text displayed on individual cPanel pages using the language file. Just be sure to assign users to use your language file once you are done.
