    is there an API call to get the cPanel account password?

    No, the password is encrypted

    While cPanel users are created as standard unix users, meaning their passwords are hashed and irretrievable, we have a universal password trap where you can capture any changes in passwords, for use in updating passwords in other applications (such as billing applications).
