    Default clamav not blocking viruses

    Hello,

We have installed the clamav plugin in the cpanel server. However, we still find many virus infected emails and virus infected websites in the server. Doesn't cpanel scan the data when it is being written in the server? If no, then what other antivirus options do we have with Cpanel?

Doesn't anybody know about this? I am surprised not to get any reply from anybody considering there are many experts in this forum.

Typically ClamAV will detect viruses in emails as they happen. However, for files, it will take a manual scan to detect such issues. Virus scanning does not take place at write-time for file uploads etc.

So then the Anti-Virus scanner will automatically scan the email for a virus when the email server receives the virus?

If there is no kind of real time virus scanning, then what is the use? We expect the files to be scanned at write time so that the customers who upload the infected files are denied outright and that will save a lot of problems later. Can this be improved?
