Hi all. :-)
We recently put together a new cPAddon for our Typo3 installation (not an upgrade, but a brand new package). We intended for users using an older Typo3 cpaddon to *not* be notified of this completely different (not an upgrade-path) package, so we changed the new package's name, version and even category. Yet for some strange reason, users of the old package were notified of the change and attempted to install it w/ bad results.
Any ideas on what could have happened? My guesses were that:
1) The Vendor specification remained the same (WEC)
2) The database postfix remained the same
Those are really the only two pieces of information that I saw connecting the two packages.
Thank you for your help in understanding this issue so we can prevent further issues like this.
