Default fantastico prob after sourceguardian addon

Hi, i upgraded my Cpanel to teh latest version with the sourceguardian fixed and when i go to fantastico i get this messege

PHP script /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/fantastico/includes/enc_restrictions.inc.php is protected by SourceGuardian and requires file ixed.lin.4.3.11.pxp.
Please read SourceGuardian protected scripts manual.

any ideas how to fix it

The fix mentioned above can be verified by visiting the Fantastico Forums and viewing the following thread by Aric:

Hopefully Fantastico will eventually upgrade their SourceGuardian to use the latest version. After all SG is for their (Fantastico's) benefit not the end users, who are constantly effected by its use.

Its coming in the next few days with the R7 release.

And as for the need for SG or any such encoder, if people wouldn't steal the product, SG et al. would not be needed.

SG would seem to be only effective against the average honest user who is often at the end of these SG problems.
The script thieves have SG decypters that are readily available on the Internet and use them to great effect.

Ioncube and Zend seem to be the most effective against script thieves at present but you can bet your bootstraps that it wont be long before decypters are readily available for these also.

More diligence by script authors who use these encoders is required to help protect the end user from these needless associated errors and consequent support tickets from their clients. As usual the host is the one who gets the blame from their clients and not the 'in the background' authors.

Good to see an upgrade is in the pipeline.
One wonders if this upgrade will require more changes at server level, by the host, to prevent these inaccessibility errors again or maybe it will be that the SG changes will be taken care of by the authors and be totally transparent.

If you were registered at http://netenberg.com - you would have received the email from them letting you know the problem. Just a thought...

Why do you all use fantastico anyway, the horror storys from using it are very distressing. I was reading once that a person had to pay someone to fix his server every day to fix out the sourceguardian kinks.

jeez, wouldnt some of you learn from others mistakes.

    Just my two cents.

I have less problems with Ffantastico than Cpanel, or for that matter almost anything else installed.

Hearsay without any backup information is always worth zero.

There's no accounting for poor server administration

Anyway, you don't hear from the thousands of very happy users of Fantastico - so that is a distorted picture. I've never had a problem with it on many servers that I've used it on. If you want to add value to your hosting packages, you won't find a more comprehensive package with the number of applications provided.

Fantastico is a great addon feature for our hosting clients , and the support is outstanding aswell, not that we really need any support , as their software is rocksolid .
Only can highly recomend it, we are running it on all our servers and never had any issues worth mentioning !!!

    So here you are
