    Exclamation Installing WordPress via Cpanel

    Hi,

I'm installing WordPress 2.7.1 into one of my domains using the Cpanel interface and each time I run the install, when I try to connect to the URL for my new WordPress installation it gives me a database error.

Going into the database with phpMyAdmin, I find a new database created, but it's blank. No tables.

If I try to rerun the install using the now created database, it tells me that the directories have been created - I have to go into the file manager and delete the directory - but even trying to use an existing database, I don't get the tables populated.

Is there something wrong with the default Wordpress installation through cPanel?

    Douglas

Just to confirm, you are clicking on "Site Software" then under "Blogs" you are clicking on "WordPress" - correct?

You aren't clicking on in icon like Installatron, Fantastico or Softaculous, correct?

That is correct, I do *not* have fantastico installed. This is the WordPress that is being installed through the cPanel interface.

I just attempted this on a server running EDGE and was unable to reproduce this issue. If you have root access to your server, feel welcome to contact our technical analysts for assistance: http://tickets.cPanel.net

Otherwise, if you just have a hosting account on the server, just contact your hosting provider for assistance and they can contact us directly.
